GASTRIC SLEEVE

The Gastric Sleeve is sometimes referred to by its more formal medical name –– Sleeve Gastrectomy. The procedure is performed laparoscopically and involves removing a portion of the stomach leaving a small sleeve or tube of stomach behind. This small tube of stomach is about the size and shape of a banana.

When you fill the small tube of stomach (or sleeve), it sends signals to the brain that you have eaten a larger portion of food than you actually have. As a result you feel satisfied and comfortable with smaller portions of food. Your digestive system is not affected with a Gastric Sleeve.

ADDED EFFECTIVENESS: The Gastric Sleeve’s added effectiveness is that during the procedure, the hormone that makes you feel hungry (Ghrelin) is reduced.

The Procedure takes about 60 Minutes It is not reversible

The average hospital stay is one night
